Applications

Rail Vehicles

Engines from 200KW up to 5000KW.

SEV-SERVICES has already a long experience of exhaust treatment systems for applications on trains used for works in tunnels.
It started in 1999 with the first exhaust locomotive gas scrubber system.
Customer was TSO, french SNCF’s subcontractor.
Then other facilities have been carried out for EUROTUNNEL and SNCF.
Based on a standard and proven technology SEV-NOx, we perform the integration around the engine.
Thus, scrubbers have been installed either in a wagon or alternatively directly in the locomotive.
The size of the system depends on the power of the engine. An additional burner or electric resistors can be fitted in case of low exhaust gas temperature.
The design takes into account the toughest conditions of use and ensure a reliability level in line with the requirements of rail industry.
The system is mainly composed of :

  • An SCR catalyst
  • An Urea tank
  • An injection system
  • A control unit cabinet

Ships and Yatchs

All passenger vessels, ferry crossing, river boats, ships supply oil riggs are fitted with engines that produce NOx gases.

To preserve the air quality for humans, more and more harbours and countries have set emission’s limits for nitrogen oxides (NOx).
The SEV-NOx package can comply with these new requirements.

The system is mainly composed of :

  • An SCR catalyst
  • An Urea tank
  • An injection system
  • A control unit cabinet

Stationary Engines

From 200KW up to 2000KW.

Diesel or gas engines used in power stations, thermal power plants, incinerators, hospitals or combustion furnaces, are emitting pollutant gases.

Depending on the engine power and its back pressure the SEV-NOx package is a reliable system for :

  • Oxydation of CO and HC
  • Filtration of soot particulates
  • Reduction of nitrogen oxydes (NOx)

Large Combustion Furnaces

This category consists primarily of:

  • Cement facilities
  • Glass industries
  • Incineration plants
  • Thermal power plants.

They are all producers of toxic gases in their production cycle.
For reduction processing of nitrogen oxides in these large industrial facilities, the SEV-NOx package is a cost-effective technical solution.

Methanation-Biogas

A major program of Biogas development projects in France was decided by the French government in 2013. 1000 new facilities are expected to be completed by 2020.

A feature from working biogas engines is that they emit extremely harmful gas for humans: Formaldehyde (CH2O). European regulations sets the limits to 40PPM.
But most of the engines cannot perform below 150 PPM.

Depending on the engine power and its back pressure the SEV-NOX package is a reliable solution for oxydation of CO and HC.
Reduction of nitrogen oxydes (NOx)
Reduction of formaldehyde(CH2O)

Greenhouses

The increase of carbon dioxide CO2 in greenhouses improves significantly the production yield of vegetables or plants.
The principle is based on the use of exhaust gases produced by a gas engine , and to convert in non-toxic gases as they are found in the atmosphere.
Toxic gases are first conveyed in a SEV-Nox unit, then purified through a honeycomb catalyst.
They are then distributed in controlled manner in the greenhouse to allow composting CO2.
The rate of improvement can reach up to 25%.

Maintenance

No preventive maintenance is required.
The SEV-NOx package is supplied with a recorder and display screen to continuously monitor operating parameters:

  • Air pressure in the injection pipes
  • Water level
  • Urea level
  • Gas temperature
